Contest Directions
1. Click here to download and print the worksheet pages.
2. On the page titled “Mother Goose,” write a Mother Goose rhyme and draw a picture for it.

3. On the page titled “Other Goose,” write the Other Goose rhyme and draw a picture to go with it. Remember to give the Other Goose rhyme a title. Use pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, watercolors or tempera paints on your drawings. Have fun!

4. On a separate piece of paper write your first name (no last name), age, grade, school name, city, state and zip code.
5. Parent or guardians: include your name and how to contact you on a separate page.
6. Submit unfolded in a 9 x 12 envelope and mail to:

Entries must be postmarked between November 1, 2008 and November 1, 2009.
How to Rhyme
Identify the rhyming words in each Mother Goose rhyme:
Jack Sprat
Jack Sprat (1) could eat no fat (1),
His wife could eat no lean (2);
And so, betwixt them both,
They licked the platter clean (2).
Then create an Other Goose rhyme:
Ginny McVat
Ginny McVat (1) was a little too fat (1).
She tried and she tried to slim down (2).
But all of her efforts failed it seems
She couldn’t get into her gown (2).
Contest Rules
> Students in Grades K-4 at the time of the Contest period are eligible to participate in the Contest provided that the student’s parent or legal guardian consents to the student’s participation. By submitting the information requested in Paragraph 5 of the Contest Directions to VanitaBooks, LLC, the parent or legal guardian will have consented, both on their own behalf and on behalf of the student, to the student’s participation in the Contest and to the Contest Rules. Entries received without the information requested in Paragraph 5 of the Contest Directions will be discarded.
> Contest period: November 1, 2008 to November 1, 2009.
> Entries must be postmarked between November 1, 2008 and November 1, 2009.
> Two winning entries will be chosen each month by the VanitaBooks LLC team.
> All entries will remain eligible to be chosen as a winning entry during the entire remaining contest period, so check back often on VanitaBooks.com (the “Website”) to see if you’ve won.
> Grammar and misspelling will be edited at the discretion of the VanitaBooks LLC team.
> Entries must include all information requested in the Contest Directions.
> Entries must be original artwork and not a depiction of any commercial product.
> Entries will not be returned to the entrant.
> Only first names will be used in order to protect the identity of the entrants.
> All winning entries will be posted, or otherwise made available, on the Website during the remainder of the Contest Period, and will also be compiled in a book (the “Book”). Each winning entrant will receive one complimentary copy of the Book after the conclusion of the Contest.
